Game night sophistication

We all know that “Man Caves” are quite the trend right now in home furnishings. Although the term is sounding a little passe to me, I must admit these rooms are still extremely relevant. Lots of people are furnishing extra rooms in their home with theater seating, game tables and even small bars. Many man [...]

Harvesty Tablescapes

Whether you have an outside setting or keep the meal indoors this year, you want your table to be inviting. I love the idea of using lots of natural elements like pumpkins, leaves and twigs to decorate my dining table, but I really think a mixed-media approach is the prettiest.

It’s Kind of Like Mashed Potatoes

By visual standards, mashed potatoes are nothing great. They lack color and form – basically a white blob on your plate. But let’s be honest, they’re the first thing you want to dig into when you sit down to dinner. So creamy, so carb-y … just straight up comfort food. Being a super visual person, I’m [...]

Love at First Sight

Is this too dramatic to describe my feelings about a piece of furniture? Perhaps, but it’s true. It happened the day of my interview here at Furnitureland South. As I left Starbucks, I rounded the corner and there it was- the Habersham dressing room. I mean, not only is it drop-dead gorgeous, but just think of all that [...]

Charmeuse and Velvet

Linens are a bit of an obsession for me. My first position here at Furnitureland South was in our Luxury Linen Gallery, and it’s there that I fell in love with beautiful linens. Ann Gish quickly became a favorite of mine because of her amazing textural fabrics. Her charmeuse sheets are a little piece of heaven, and when paired with [...]

A New Year, A Fresh Start

This past weekend was a big deal. My sister gave birth to Evie, the latest beautiful addition to our family, and I took down my Christmas tree. I love Christmas so much that every year when it’s time to take down the tree, I go into a mild depression. I found myself sentimentalizing every single ornament [...]

Festival of Sleep Day!

Are you aware that today is National Festival of Sleep Day? There couldn’t be a better time than right after the busy holiday season. Frankly,  I’m not sure how I lived 26 years of my life unaware of a nationally recognized day devoted to sleep. I’m an early to bed, late to rise kind of girl. . . [...]
