Kaitlyn ventured to North Carolina all the way from upstate New York to continue her education in Interior Design. While obtaining her bachelor’s degree in Interior Design at High Point University she found a home here at Furnitureland as one of our first interns. After graduating she stuck around to out grow of her Kaitlyn “the intern” nickname and became the “New Girl”. Hopefully that has passed as well. As a student she also played a part in creating the Interiors and Home Furnishings Club, and planning trips and networking events for her fellow students.

Kaitlyn believes that design is all around us and it is an adventure to discover potential in the most unexpected places. In her spare time you can find Kaitlyn enjoying the beautiful outdoors and teaching ZUMBA!

What are clients saying about Kaitlyn?

“Kaitlyn Carpenter deserves kudos for her handling of this sale. She answered each and every question, gave us the quick turn around we expected for all our questions and requests for quotes. She was patient and worked well with our group which had more than one decision maker. Her overall professionalism is an asset to your organization.”
– Cheryl B, Millstone Township, NJ

“Great prices and products. Great Sales Consultant. Well informed, very efficient and courteous. Kaitlyn even replied to my request when the store was closed.”
–Delmar F, Manasquan, NJ

“This has been the best experience ever. Everything was done online. I never stepped foot in the furniture showroom. Everyone from the Design Consultant (Kaitlyn) to the Furniture Delivery gentlemen was absolutely wonderful. I can’t speak highly enough of this experience and appreciate everything.”

Ideas from Kaitlyn’s Houzz

Furnitureland South has recently partnered with Houzz.com and their phone app is my new best friend! Houzz.com can be a great inspiration and visualization tool for design consultants and homeowners, alike. It can often times be difficult for our customers to explain what they are looking for. Houzz.com allows the customer to visualize exactly how all the elements may work together in their space.

Design Challenge: Make It Work

As a designer, my passion has always surfaced from a craving for a good challenge. I have learned in every avenue of my experience that design is not about selecting a set. It’s about bringing new life and function to an otherwise uninspired concept. Allowing pieces with separate intentions to create balance and interest in [...]

Design on a Dime

Design is often seen as a pricy matter. From end tables to rugs, the bill can really stack up. I tend to be the “budget-conscious” type. One of my greatest joys in life is finding a GREAT DEAL. This month at Furnitureland South, our MAGIC NUMBER is $3,999. For qualifying states, that number means FREE [...]

The “Alternative”

Coffee tables. Who needs ‘em!? Some of my favorite pieces are those that are used for a function other than the one for which they were originally created. For something that is so often a focal point, shouldn’t a coffee table strike up a little more interest? An interesting piece like this travel trunk can be used [...]

Father-Daughter Memories

As we take this month to celebrate kids at Furnitureland South, we should also remember all our fathers and how much they mean to us. Some of my favorite memories with my dad are of being outside sitting by a fire, relaxing by the pool, and most of all … GRILLING! All these activities may [...]

Doll House

When I was a little girl, one of my favorite things to do was decorate my little wooden doll house with miniature-size furniture. The one complaint my mother heard most was “I wish this came in my size.” Although my mother continues to hear the same complaint from me every once in a while, she [...]

Finding Your “Ness”

When designing, I like to add some Kait-ness to the space. Kait-ness being my personality and pizazz. Personality plays a strong role in creating a comfortable and stylish bedroom. Whether your personality calls for some bling, bright colors, or relaxing undertones, your “Ness” should shine within your bedroom. For the traveling soul, mementos from your [...]

Green adj [grēn]: ???

The age of the sustainable lifestyle has arrived. The word GREEN has been redefined to describe our new “Eco-Friendly” ways. It’s almost as if the COLOR GREEN is fading into the background. However, the color green is front and center right now in home furnishings and can shine bright this spring. For the more neutral [...]

I Spy Something Striped!

Stripes are a timeless trend that can jazz up any space. Such simple lines can bring fabulous character to your home. Bright, big, busy, and bold; stripes are a horse of a different color. Marie Burgos Design Blog displays this picture of a black and white striped wall. In the words of Marie Burgos, “If [...]
