Rachel Sturm

Rachel Sturm knew from a young age that she had a passion for Interior Design and Home Furnishings. Years of constantly re-arranging her childhood bedroom led her to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Home Furnishings Marketing & Interior Design at High Point University. There she also excelled in other forms of expressive arts, leading High Point University’s all-female acapella group, the Petal Points.

After graduating in May 2009, Rachel began her career in the Home Furnishings Industry as a Sales Consultant for a furniture company in South Charlotte, NC. After two years there, she decided it was time to explore a more design-based career as a Design Consultant with Furnitureland South.

Rachel has a keen eye for color and fabric and loves incorporating the use of multiple textures in a space. She also has an appreciation for fine rugs, architecture and real estate. She believes fully in the statement: “Home is where the heart is,” and thinks your home should be a personal reflection of yourself.

When she’s not hard at work, Rachel enjoys spending time at the lake, beach and mountains. She is happiest when she is on the water boating and snow skiing in the mountains.

“A design isn’t finished until somebody is using it.” — Brenda Laurel

Navy and white stripes, Ikat patterns, and other geometric shapes seem to be the most prevalent. What is popular in fashion is often popular in furniture, and with this particular example, that statement could […]
