Bring the beach to you!

beachIt’s June, and you know what that means…BEACH SEASON! We can’t all be on the water, however, so why not bring the beach inside your home? Whether it’s your bedroom, living space or even a small corner of your patio, you can create your own sandy oasis miles from the coast.

ShellsTo create a calming beach retreat, consider a cool color palette of blues, greens, creams or yellows. Add touches of interest with occasional pieces and accessories. For example, over the years I have collected sand and shells from various beaches, and I keep these displayed in a corner of my office. Though it’s only a small portion of my room, it provides a bit of tranquility amid the hustle and bustle of my day.

Or if you want to create more excitement in your living space, select vivid reds and blues against a neutral background. The anchor print in this group provides a sailing theme and is very easy to change by swapping out the toss pillows.
