Often times clients ask me “how do I get started pulling my room together?”.
One of the easiest ways is to start with the rug. Since today most of us like solid colors on the sofa and perhaps a small stripe or print on a chair, the biggest pattern in the room might very well be on the floor. Remember that every color has other colors in it, so it is important to pull fabrics together that are in the same hue.
Rugs are exciting! Patterns, textures, colors, and the personality a rug brings to the room makes a statement about your own style. These are a few of the new rugs from Surya, one of our newest vendors who stays on the cutting edge of fashion.
Flatweaves are the hottest new trend in rugs. These are handwoven in 100% wool, reversible and come in a multitude of colors and patterns. A big plus: They are very affordable.
Another great flatweave that makes a big statement.
Traditional rugs are still a classic look and the wonderful colors and patterns found in these hand tufted, 100% wool rugs will enhance any room.
Texture, texture and more texture. I love these hand braided rugs, they are “quiet” but have an amazing presence in a room and add softness to sharp lines.
Shags are back in a big way! There are so many to choose from . . . I’ve put them in bedrooms, living rooms, sunrooms and penthouse apartments. This rug by Surya is handwoven, 100% polyester plush and it doesn’t shed.
Natural fiber rugs are one of my favorites. Yes, I know I like them all, but these can be used anywhere that you want to create a more casual look. I love the jute, seagrass, mountain grass and sisal.
Rugs are no longer just for the inside of the house. With Surya’s extensive line of outdoor rugs, you can bring the charm, sophistication and fun to the outside. Just choose a style and build around it.
Whether it’s a neutral, an Ikat, geometrics, stripes or beautiful solid let’s check out Surya together.
