French Laundry Meets Stars & Stripes

The French Laundry style is popping up everywhere in home decor, and I must say … je l’adore.

Built around french linen laundry bags, reclaimed wood, slipcovers, and a more relaxed attitude, French Laundry is casual while still being chic.

When Debbie Jones of French Laundry Home set out to recreate the feel of 100 year-old French laundry bags {thus the style’s name}, she found the only place she could produce the same soft, warn feelings of those textiles was right here in North Carolina. And so she went to work, hiring local craftspeople to produce her beautiful linen fabric. What began as pillows and linens has quickly morphed into a furniture line with a new collection by Country Living {and featured in the July issue of the magazine}.

The French Laundry movement is taking over our style! … which not only creates a more stylish North Carolina, but has added 35 jobs to the local economy in an industry where jobs have been moving overseas in droves. {You can see more about how Debbie is helping to stimulate the local economy here.}

French Laundry: Meet the Stars and Stripes of the American Flag.

Bridgewater Chair by French Laundry Home

The Bridgewater Chair by French Laundry Home is the epitome of American patriotism. With long-tie tassels reminiscent of firework tails, you can show your proud American spirit in your home every day of the year {or if you prefer – there are options for the French Flag and Texas State Flag as well}. Of course if you prefer a more subdued look, the Bridgewater Chair comes in a plain linen fabric sans tassels too.

And if you love the French Laundry movement as much as I do, it helps knowing that you’re contributing to the local economy and supporting skilled craftspeople. Now that’s style with a conscience!
