Yesterday was one of those extra-special days when my love for Furnitureland South exceeds my own expectations. Following our Pink Partners for the Cure promotion during the month of October, we had a special visit from John Richardson and Anna Eichhorn of the NC Triad Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Just in case you haven’t been following, last month we partnered with Hooker Furniture in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We pledged to jointly donate $10 for each new “like” we both received on Facebook or follower we both received on Twitter. And doing so registered new followers to win the Hope Chair – a custom-made chair from Sam Moore, a division of Hooker Furniture.
I was so honored to be present as Hooker Furniture’s Kim Shaver presented the NC Triad Affiliate of Susan G. Komen with a check for $1,100 on behalf of Hooker Furniture and Furnitureland South. I learned during the presentation that NC Triad Affiliate was able to give $600,000 to help women in the surrounding 11 counties in North Carolina last year due to the donations they received. The work they do is so valuable to our community and others in the state of North Carolina.
I am thankful to work for an organization that is so involved in the local community, and for partners like Hooker Furniture who join us in our efforts. Thank you to all of our new followers, and to everyone who follows and supports Furnitureland South. YOU helped make this donation possible.
