While most of the retail world breezed right over Thanksgiving and has moved onto Christmas, I prefer to take one holiday at a time. Yes, it’s a few days before Thanksgiving and I’m not urging you to think about your Christmas list yet.
Whether you have an outside setting or you’re keeping the meal indoors, you want your table to be inviting. I love the idea of using lots of natural elements like pumpkins, leaves and twigs to decorate my dining table, but I really think a mixed-media approach is the prettiest. Find some key accessories that you can throw into the mix year after year.
Kalalou is one of my favorite sources for seasonal decor, so I’ve picked out some of their best fall merchandise for your enjoyment.
This mercury glass vase is gorgeous with simple dried leaves to add fall flare. Using varying heights of vases and candle holders is a simple way to add interest as well as height to your table. And since this vase doesn’t have a turkey or pilgrims on it, you can use it year round!

And please … who can resist these owls and birds made from twigs and bark? These would be adorable sitting on your table or hanging from a chandelier. Of course, if you eat outside you can hang them from a tree!

Candles never get old. If you don’t have room on your table for these substantial lanterns, you can use them in the corner of your dining room to create a cozy glow.

These little felt guys are great to add some color to a table or mantel!
Harvest Gourds
I would love to see this delicate leaf garland meandering around my table amongst candles, vases and gravy boats.
Most of these items are so versatile, you can use them throughout the fall season, or even year round. Enjoy making your table beautiful this year and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
