It’s a Wonderful Life … In Your Home

The holidays are here and if you celebrate Christmas, it’s a time to snuggle up with your favorite holiday beverage and your loved ones to enjoy the Christmas movies we wait for all year long. I’ve found some great furniture inspired by the Holiday season and my favorite Christmas movies. Take a look!

When I saw this apothecary cabinet from Theodore Alexander, I could not help but to think about the movie, It’s A Wonderful Life. I know that not a holiday season goes by in my household without the film. Even with my hectic schedule, it is one of my favorites and a tradition I just cannot give up.

This Argentinian walnut apothecary was inspired by a 1940s American original (same era as the film!) and features glass paneling in the drop-front cabinets and doors. This piece resonates the true meaning of timeless tradition and would make a beautiful display cabinet in any home.

A more recent favorite in my household is The Santa Claus. I love the movie’s whimsical appeal, depiction of the north pole, and of course Santa’s top-notch sleigh.

This Cherry Grove Sleigh Bed from American Drew reminded me of the sleigh in The Santa Claus with its grand appeal and comfort – I like the idea of keeping the holiday spirit alive year round!

A Christmas Story is another movie that is sure to play on repeat this holiday season. One of the more notable scenes from the movie is definitely the scene about the “leg lamp.” While you may not want this particular lamp … it may still be a good time to consider a new lamp to warm your home this holiday season, and one that you will treasure as much much as the prized “leg lamp” for years to come.

These lamps from Theodore Alexander are beautiful and intricate.
