What inspires you?

Fabulous furniture is wonderful, but to truly establish the character of your home, find something that inspires you! Here are a few tips to help you get started:

How about a really great piece of art to get you started? Colors on the wall, trim, fireplace, and fabrics in the same hue let the art become the “voice” in this room.

Sometimes we have incredible accessories that need to be showcased. (I remember once designing a room around a 3-foot high wooden dog!)  In this situation, several colored bowls are arranged in an abstract design on the wall above a simple console table. It’s a great look!

No question about this one – it started with a rug. Vibrant colors, big design and a big statement! This room is pulled together by neutralizing the fabric on the sofa and adding colorful pillows.
