This room reflects the serenity of the water and a casual lifestyle. Here, colors were kept to a minimum allowing a natural setting to become the backdrop for the room.

High above the city, this loft features floor-to-ceiling windows. An oversized painting on the perpendicular wall creates balance, bringing the eye back inside to the comfort of the room. These carefully selected furnishings allow the windows to be a strong focal point in a beautiful setting.

How about a really great piece of art to get you started? Colors on the wall, trim, fireplace, and fabrics in the same hue let the art become the “voice” in this room.

Sometimes we have incredible accessories that need to be showcased. (I remember once designing a room around a 3-foot high wooden dog!)  In this situation, several colored bowls are arranged in an abstract design on the wall above a simple console table. It’s a great look!

No question about this one – it started with a rug. Vibrant colors, big design and a big statement! This room is pulled together by neutralizing the fabric on the sofa and adding colorful pillows.

Inspiration can come from almost anything. I love helping clients find their “jumping off point” and making their house their home!
