“What’s love got do with it,” is a question made famous by one of my favorite singers, Tina Turner. She made this question famous with a hit song and movie. Now I pose this question to you: What’s love got to do with it?
When I was a small child, certain things were a given. I was going to church no matter how much I complained and after church – comfort food would be plentiful. I have wonderful memories of those hot, barefoot summer days playing with cousins or siblings while dinner (that’s lunch for city folk) was being prepared. I knew there would be deviled eggs arranged on a special platter; a chocolate cake in the cake plate – and ice cold sweet tea to wash it all down.
What are your memories from your childhood? Do you remember your grandma’s favorite chair? Maybe you remember sitting with her in a big wooden rocker as she rocked you back and forth while singing a sweet lullaby.
Perhaps, you crawled up into grandpa’s lap as he was trying to nap in his big recliner or wing back chair. You felt so safe in his big arms as you snuggled up really close to him so you could smell his after shave. These are precious memories. This image from Decor Pad displays how you can take the wing back chair and create a modern atmosphere.
Maybe you’d like to bring back some of those memories into your home with your furniture, but you don’t want your house to look like mamaw or grandma’s. You are in luck.
We have lots of updated traditional looks that are reminiscent of the things you remember from your childhood — but are current for today’s lifestyles.
Love is about special times with special people. That’s how love and memories can effect your furniture decisions. That’s what love has to do with it
Perhaps you have childhood memories you’d like to share — special memories of a place or a time. Feel free to share with me.
